Alan Tudyk’s role inFireflymight have given him his TV career break, but his best performance was inArrested Development. Alan Tudyk appears in the second season ofArrested Development, during the episode “Meet The Veals.” The episode introduces us to Ann’s conservative Christian parents, with her father, the pastor Terry Veal, being played by Tudyk. Michael is trying to sabotage Ann’s engagement to George Michael, but in the typical way for the show, things get out of hand.

Michael hopes that his chaotic family will horrify the Veals so much that the wedding will be called off. However,Arrested Development’s dysfunctional Bluth familybehaves themselves for once, with the mild-mannered Pastor Terry Veal supporting the marriage. Still, he is drawn into a Bluth family tradition of fighting when he discovers that Michael kissed his wife.

While many ofFirefly’s crew members could be hot-headed, the good-naturedWash (Tudyk) generally kept his sense of humor, except when it came to his wife, Zoe. WhenFireflyviewers saw Wash in a fistfight with Mal, it was due to a misunderstanding related to Zoe. Pastor Veal shares Wash’s kindly personality, as well as his willingness to fight over his wife.
