This massive alteration to X-Men lore comes afteran evil variant of Legiontears their way through X-Men history in order to gain power and reunite with his missing half, subsequently sending Kamala Khan back in time to experience these Marvel milestones. While the world may not remember Kamala Khan during these historic events, Cyclops and the X-Men do.
After the X-Men defeat Legion’s hive-mind, they promise that when they reunite with David Haller in the White Hot Room, they will restore the timeline, but, per Kamala’s protest,Legion leaves the X-Men’s memories of Miss Marvel, forever tying her to X-Men continuity. A truly bold, and perhaps contentious, decision to keep Kamala Khan’s time-traveling adventures canon.
Though Miss Marvel’s time-altering escapades mainly serve as a celebration of these incredible stories, they also revisit these events from a new perspective and further grow Kamala’s connection to the X-Men and Mutantkind. The story alsofurther develops Kamala’s mutant powers, and she finally comes to terms with her mutant identity as she eventually comes out to her family.
