World of Warcraft’sTrading Post inventory for May had a huge fake out that threw players for a loop. While these glitches caused some frustration and confusion among players, they also showed off some awesome new cosmetics coming toWorld of Warcraftin the future.
The Trading Post is a newWorld of Warcraftfeature that lets players purchase cosmetic items with Trader’s Tender, a special currency awarded for completing various tasks each month. The inventory for the Trading Post rotates monthly, meaning thestock ofWorld of Warcraftitems for Mayrecently went live.

However, when the May Trading Post inventory went live on EU servers, players found an unexpected surprise. Several previously-advertised items were missing on the Trading Post, and the Feathered Cowl of the Guardian, Standard of the Guardian, and Feathered Drape of the Guardian – threeMedivh-inspired itemsWorld of Warcraftplayers had previously discoveredin the files – were available. The models for these items were broken, but their appearances were able to be datamined because of the glitch.
Unfortunately, the error was short-lived.World of Warcraftcut off access to the Trading Post soon after the stock refreshed, and when it was reactivated, the Medivh-inspired items were gone, and the inventory returned to normal. Players who purchased these broken items were still able to wear their glitched appearances, butWoWwill probably remove them and refund their Trader’s Tender soon, if they haven’t already.
Though players have loved the Trading Post so far, it seems to have had several problems in the short time it has been up. After a glitchy launch, the first rollover ofWoW’snew feature in March broke the Freeze option, and the new Tiercel’s Wing cosmetic weapon from this month is erroneously classified as a warglaive, despite being advertised as a sword. Hopefully,World of Warcraftwill be able to iron out the kinks in the popular new feature to avoid similar glitches in the future.
World of Warcraftis available now for PC.
