Ethan’s Journey Has Been Tumultuous

Ethan enteredWelcome to Plathvillein 2019 likable for his innocence and adoration of his now-ex-wife, Olivia Plath. The two broke up in season 5, and reportedly finalized things in season 6. Ethan did attempt to make things work with Olivia for years, after having married in 2018, but Ethan’s viewpoints and unwillingness to compromise earned him a lot of criticism.

Ethan wanted Olivia to be a traditional wife and cater to him; something Olivia wasn’t willing to do. Now, in season 7, Ethan has been painting himself as the one who ended his marriage and the one who came out on the right side of things, which is not the case in popular opinion.

Ethan has taken his villain status further with his season 7 behavior towards his sister, Lydia Plath’s now-husband, Zac Wyse.

Ethan accused Zac of being gayduring an interview, of being effeminate when speaking to his mother, Kim, and went out of his way to make Zac feel uncomfortable in front of a group that included middle sibling Isaac Plath. Moreover, he flat-out told Lydia he didn’t like Zac for little to no reason, causing Lydia to cry.

All over Reddit, posts like the one fromu/NewWolf4995have been addressing how problematic Ethan has been. Regarding how Ethan instigated a poor group experience for Zac, fans reacted.
