December has been a big month for theAssassin’s Creedcommunity. First, not only did Ubisoft announce the next major expansion forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla—Dawn of Ragnarok—but it also released theAC ValhallaandOdysseyCrossover Stories that saw Kassandracome face to face with Eivor. Ubisoft India, seemingly forACDay, announced that it is working on 60 FPS support forAssassin’s Creed Origins. This has been something fans have been clamoring for since August whenAC Odysseyreceived its 60 FPS boost patchwhen playing via backward compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Ubisoft India did not have much more to share beyond this point, but it stands to reason thatAC Originswill be held to the same standard asOdyssey.
Of course, some fans have taken this and ran with it. The timing has led some to believe that Ubisoft could be preparing another Crossover Stories release, whereKassandra appears in a newAC Originsquest. This would be welcome and it’s not entirely unfounded—Odysseygot a patch and got the content a few months later,AC Odyssey’s Crossover sees Kassandra in the Library of Alexandria, and much more. That doesn’t mean it’s a for sure thing, but fans clearly want Kassandra’s Crossover Stories to continue.
For now, fans will just have to ultimately wait and see what comes of all of this, but there is plenty on the horizon. TheAC Origins60 FPS patch, the Immersive Concert, Dawn of Ragnarok, and far more are plenty of reasons to keep an eye on the franchise in 2022. Not to mention,Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s DLC may continue well after Dawn of Ragnarok, and it’s possible fans learn Infinity—though it remains to, again, to be seen.
Assassin’s Creed Originsis available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
