One of the most popular features of the Xbox One is the extensive and ever-growing library of backward compatible Xbox 360 games. Now, two more games are coming to the library, one of which should excite many diehard fans.
The first of the two games isBrutal Legend, which was a popular Double Fine title that utilized the voices of Jack Black and Tim Curry. A big budget project,Brutal Legendhas a dedicated following of fans thanks to its heavy metal influence, and they are likely excited to play this 2009 action-strategy game once again. It was praised mostly for its sense of humor and world-building, but it was criticized for being dull at times. Still, this should fill a void until theeventual release ofBrutal Legend 2.
Following this popular title is a game that not many have likely heard of,Greg Hastings Paintball 2. With 20-player support, gear offered by leading paintball companies, and several events to enjoy, this paintball simulator may bring a few hours of fun. It’s worth mentioning, however, that its Metacritic score is around 45, so it may only appeal to a small niche.
To play these games, hard copy owners need only insert their disc and the download will begin. If they are owned digitally, the games can be downloaded at no additional charge. While this has been the basic method since Backward Compatibility was introduced, it’ll be interesting to see how this feature develops. One analyst even believes that thethe PlayStation 5will likely have some form of Backward Compatibility.
After all, old-gen and current-gen titles can still be fun for gamers. Even if it’s one day considered old-gen,Marvel’sSpider-Man on PS4, for example, is so popularthat it deserves to be played on the most powerful next-gen consoles.
