The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4is the finale to theTrails of Cold Steelsaga of games developed by Nihon Falcom and published by NIS America. ThoughTrails of Cold Steel 4is available nowon PS4 in the West, NIS America also announced the game will be making its way to both Nintendo Switch and PC sometime in 2021.
Now, it seems like players have a solid date for when these versions will release, thanks to some early promotional materials associated with the game in Japan. It appears that both versions ofThe Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4will release on June 14, 2025, five months after the game first arrived for Western audiences.

This information comes by way of freelance writer and games insider Hansuke12 on Twitter, who was able to find two sources confirming the release date. The first comes by way of NIS America itself in a Twitch chat. The second source is from a screenshot of promotional material forTrails of Cold Steel 4shown during the New Game+ Expo. NIS America only announced thatTrails of Cold Steel 4was coming to Switchat the beginning of this year. Seeing asTrails of Cold Steel 3was the first entry in the series to make its way onto a Nintendo platform, it makes sense that the sequel would follow suit.
This is great news for players who have been waiting to play the final entry in theTrails of Cold Steelsaga on their platform of choice, as they won’t have to wait much longer to see the saga conclude. For those unfamiliar withThe Legend of Heroes, it is a series of JRPG titles which follow an overarching story spanning three separate arcs across different times and countries. ThoughTrails of Cold Steel 4concludes theCold Steelarc, there isa newTrailsJRPG set to follow itthat will tie up loose ends and set up the start of the second half ofThe Legend of Heroesstoryline, meaning there’s still plenty more to come.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4is available now on PS4. It will release June 12, 2025 for PC and Switch.
