In one scene in the trailer, Belly and Jeremiah announce to the rest of the family they’re planning on getting married. Naturally, everyone looks shocked, including Belly’s brother, Steven (Sean Kaufman), her mother, Laurel (Jackie Chung), and Conrad. Though Conrad undoubtedly has big feelings about his little brother and Belly’s upcoming nuptials, Laurel seems to be the one most resistant to the idea. In the footage, she talks to Belly and Jeremiah one-on-one and tells them in no uncertain terms that she doesn’t think they’re ready for that kind of commitment.
Will Jeremiah truly be her last love? Or will Conrad take his place?

She’ll have to work hard to maintain her relationship with Jeremiah, as his insecurities regarding Conrad are out in full force, and readers of the books will know that Jeremiah does something painfully self-destructive in the story, too.
