Paige showed up to the villa wearing a green suede cut-out dressto host a challenge that had several elements: the men (aka, lumberjacks) had to climb a fake tree to chop down a branch with a question for their fellow Islanders. Whoever is chosen as the answer gets sprayed with a simulated wood chopper. That unlucky boy then gets to choose a girl (who is not coupled up with the lumberjack) to simulate chopping the log in a very suggestive way, and then the lumberjack gets to choose another girl to battle a slippery, spinning log with.
Finally, the lumberjack picks a toy beaver and whoever’s name is on it gets to spend some “alone time” in a fake cabin with the lumberjack. Whatever goes down in the cabin isn’t known to the rest of the players, sothis challenge really shook things up for the Islanders. Things got particularly interesting when Jeremiah Brown, who had been coupled up with Huda Mustafa, chose Olandria Carthen at random as the person to go into the cabin with. The two made out, much to Huda’s annoyance.

Just asJalen Brown was completing his challenge,Paige suddenly wasn’t standing in her position anymore. The show picked up without Paige, and didn’t ever address her disappearance, leading to speculation online as to what exactly happened to Paige. TikTok content creatorKate Riccioshared a video unpacking the drama and sharing theories about where Paige went.
Many felt that there were issues with the log rolling challenge, as it looked somewhat dangerous for the players to participate in. Later, contestant Hannah Fields was spotted with a bandage on her arm, leading to speculation that perhaps Hannah was injured in the challenge, which delayed filming and meant Paige couldn’t stay for the entire thing. With no information from the show,the online world began wondering.

Luckily, Paige has a wildly successful podcast with co-host Hannah Berner calledGiggly Squad, which gave Paige all the space she needed to explain what happened onLove Island. Apparently, Paige had picked a few summery outfits she thought would work onLove Island, but at the last minute, the show asked Paige if she had anything that would work for a “lumberjack” challenge. She came up with the green suede dress she ended up wearing, although under the scorching sun in Fiji,Paige began to feel sick.
“The sun starts beating down on me pretty aggressively, and I would say we’re about two hours into filming, and I’m like standing there, and I’m in a full suede skirt…. And I’m like, you know what, guys? Real quick, feeling a bit queasy. Let me take a minute to myself.”
Paige then reveals that she actually threw up, and that everyone on set was concerned about her well-being. Paige said she felt she could continue, so she regained her spot, butthen began to feel lightheaded and fainted. She told production that she couldn’t finish the challenge, so the show finished it without her. Her explanation makes perfect sense, and in the end, we’re just glad that Paige survivedLove Island.
