The COVID-19 pandemic halted production of film, TV and even video games for a time, and now, as some parts of the world slowly begin to open back up, production is resuming. This has resulted in a lot of delays, many of which have been pushed all the way to next year. But one that thankfully won’t be affected isThe Mandalorian, according to showrunner Jon Favreau.

In a roundtable discussion aboutThe Mandalorianduring the online ATX-TV festival, Favreau revealed that the series had already finished filming before things had to be shut down because of coronavirus, “We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lockdown, so thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we’ve been able to do all the editing visual effects remotely.” He also confirmed that season 2 ofThe Mandalorian, “will be available as planned on Disney+ in October.”The Mandalorianwas originally slated by Disney to be out in October, and series cinematographer Baz Idoinedid confirm a wrap on filming in March, but it is still nice to have an official confirmation on when Season 2 will be released.

Two other high-profile Disney+ series that were also supposed to come out this year but might be as lucky are Marvel’sThe Falcon And The Winter SoldierandWandavision.Those two series were slated to be releasedin August and December respectively, but both have apparently suffered production delays due to Coronavirus. However, Disney has yet to officially delay either so fans should keep their fingers crossed.

Fans should be very excited forThe Mandalorianseason 2, as several lovedStar Warscharacters are going to be making appearances, includingClone Wars’Bo Katan Kryze and another,even more surprising, fan favorite.
