What Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 Update Means

With Reeves' official update thatThe Batman 2scripthas been finished,it finally puts to rest any speculation about it being canceled, despite Gunn having had to debunk the rumors multiple times. But as the screenplay has been completed, DC Studios will likely review it before fully approving it, although that may have already happened, based on Reeves' post.

AsThe Batman 2will be able to get further into pre-production, it also means that the DC installment will finally be able to start the casting process for any new characters in the sequel. If filming is still on track for the end of 2025, that means fans will be getting casting announcements throughout the fall.

For any ofThe Batman 2castmembers who are returning from the first movie, they will also finally be able to read the script and prepare for their next go-around playing their respective DC characters. This is definitely a huge deal for several ofThe Batmanactors, after having been asked about the sequel in several interviews over the last few years.
