Upon discovering the new variations, Superman calls Batman for help in handling and discovering the effects ofthe four new Kryptonite colors. Bruce is initially hesitant about Clark’s plan to test the variations on himself. However, Clark makes a solid argument that they need to know the effects in case these colors are ever weaponized against him.
Starting with Purple Kryptonite, Batman hits Clark with a concentrated beam in the chest. At first, the effects aren’t obvious, but as they interact, it becomes clear the rock is causing severe cognitive issues, warping Superman’s sense of reality, especially his sight and hearing.

Batman and Superman soon discoverthat Purple Kryptonite also warpsClark’s sense of linear time, shuffling events out of order. Adding to the disruption, Clark catches glimpses into the future. While seeing the future might sound like a superpower, for Clark it only disorients him further.

Superman is actively trying to fight Solomon Grundy while under theeffects of the Purple Kryptonite. It is extremely disorienting for him to receive glimpses of the future and experience other temporal disruptions during the fight. This puts him at a disadvantage, showing how this new ‘superpower’ is more of a hindrance than a true power.
In addition to being distracting, the glimpses are also distressing. The two main events Clark sees are Luthor beating him in a fight and Lois Lane hitting forty and breaking up with him. It will be interesting to see ifSupermanis tempted to take more Purple Kryptonite to get more glimpses and avoid said negative outcomes.
