With the upcoming weekend signaling the middle of February, the year is already going by extremely fast. For fans of Nintendo’s fighting gameSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, one of2020’s best-selling video games in Japan, another online tournament has been scheduled which will only allow characters who mostly fight using body-to-body attacks to participate.

Previously,Super Smash Bros. Ultimatehosted an online tourney that only allowedSSBUcharacters who mainly used projectile attacks. This was a great opportunity for fans who favored ranged attack heroes such as Samus Aran, Link, Solid Snake, Mega Man, and evenAnimal Crossing’s Villager. However, for the upcoming tournament, players who prefer to trick their opponents to fight within melee range are in for a fun competitive experience.

TheSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatedevelopment team took to Twitter to officially announce the start date and theme of the online tournament. According to the post, the event is “Collision”-based and will feature characters that use close-ranged bodily attacks to harm their opponents.

So players who heavily use these characters will probably enjoy going head-to-head with their fellow fans.

With the recent online hype generated by theupcoming February 2021 Nintendo Direct, it is likely this particular online tournament will see an influx of participants.
