A promo video for Oh! great’s manga adaptation of NisiOisin’sMonogatari Serieslight novels was released on Thursday to celebrate the release of the manga’s 16th volume.

Studio SHAFT – the studio behind theMonogatari Seriesanime adaptation – animated the promo video which was released on Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine’s official YouTube channel. The manga’s official Twitteraccount announced in Decemberthat the series would be entering its “final stage” this year.

NisiOisin’sMonogatarilight novel seriesran in Kodansha’s Mephisto, Pandora, and Bessatsu magazines from 2005-2021 in the Kodansha Box imprint, and features illustrations from Taiwanese illustrator Vofan. Studio Shaft adapted the light novel series into an anime from 2009-2019.

TheMonogatari First Seasonanime, comprised ofBakemonogatari,Nisemonogatari, andNekomonogatari (Black), ran from 2009-2012.Monogatari Second Seasonaired from 2013-2014, consisting of theNekomonogatari (White),Kabukimonogatari,Otorimonogatari,Onimonogatari,Koimonogatari, andHanamonogatariarcs. Afinal seasonconsisting of theTsukimonogatari,Owarimonogatari I,Koyomimonogatari,Owarimonogatari II, andZoku Owarimonogatariarcs aired from 2014-2019.

Shaft released afilm trilogy adaptingtheKizumonogatariarc from 2016-2017. The films were directed by longtimeMonogatariseries director Akiyuki Shinbo, andBakemonogatarico-director Tatsuya Oishi.

Oh! great’s manga adaptation began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2018. The series has amassed 15 volumes throughout its run so far. Oh! great is best known for hisTenjho Tengemanga, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine from 1997-2010, as well asAir Gear, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 2002-2012. The mangaka has also contributed alternate character outfits toTekken 5and6, and designedSoulcalibur IVbonus character, Ashlotte.

Aniplex of America licenses the anime series in English, and has released the different series for home media over the years. The anime can also be streamed on Crunchyroll. Both the light novel and manga are published in English by Kodansha USA publishing imprint, Vertical.
