Good news forThe Lord of the Ringsfans: Alamo Drafthouse has something very special in the works for everyone itching to revisit Middle-earth. While some fans may be aware that 4K remasters of the trilogy are coming to theaters, they may be excited to know that showings of the films are going to come packed with some extra features on the end from Stephen Colbert.
Lord of the Ringstrilogy director Peter Jacksonhimself is set to reunite with the cast of the films for a special Q&A reunion. It’s going to be quite the production as well, as the full list of guests includes Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Billy Boyd, Peter Jackson, Ian McKellen, Dominic Monaghan, Viggo Mortensen, Andy Serkis, Liv Tyler, and Elijah Wood. So, just about anyone fans could hope for will be in attendance.

Not only that, there’s a little extra bonus for this star-studded lineup, as the entire production is set to be hosted by none other thanThe Late Show’s Colbert. Anyone who has watched Colbert for long enough knows that the comedian is one of the biggestLord of the Ringsfans in existence, with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the story and world.
Colbert’s fandom is so well known that he was even given a small cameo inJackson’sThe Hobbitas a gesture of appreciation for his dedication. In fact, this reunion may be one of the first where the host ends up being a bigger fan than the majority of those watching the event. For superfans who aren’t hosting the reunion, questions can be submitted via Twitter until March 10th by using the #LOTR20 hashtag.
Each section of the Q&A will be split up according to each movie, with different stars participating after different films. The exact schedule for each section of the event has been published by the Alamo Drafthouse for those with an interest in specific films, but the whole event kicks off March 25th withThe Fellowship of the Ring.
