Number One’s future is new canonical ground forStar Trek, andStrange New Worldswill answer the nearly 60-year-old mystery of what happens to Unaby the time ofStar Trek: The Original Series.However, those answers will come whenStar Trek: Strange New Worldsends in season 5. Christina Chong Reveals La’an Has A New Dance Partner - And A New Love?

Lieutenant La’an Noonien-Singh vowed to “change her paradigm"duringStar Trek: Strange New Worldsseason 2’s musical episode.True to her word,La’an has a new lightness inStrange New Worldsseason 3.As Christina Chong explained,“Having fought the Gorn, she survived, and she’s loosening up a bit.”

La’an also found a literal new dance partner in Lieutenant Spock(Ethan Peck). Chong says,"[La’an] finds a dance partner in Spock, and he’s a great dance partner. And where that leads? Who knows. But that was super fun. All the dancing and rehearsals, and the extra hours we put in was all worth it.”

Christina prefers “La’ock” to “Spa’an,” which to her sounds like “Spawn.”

La’an Will Speak With An American Accent In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3

“They Were Like, ‘Yeah, Let’s Keep The American Accent”

Rebecca Romijn and Christina Chong agreed that their favoriteStar Trek: Strange New Worldsseason 3 episode is the Hollywood murder mystery set in the holodeck, which was directed by Jonathan Frakes.Chong normally speaks with her native British accent as La’an,but Christina explained that La’an will sport a new American accent in Frakes’ holodeck outing.

Chong explained, “Originally they didn’t want me to do an American accent… I just read it, and I was like,‘Oh, that sounds like an American noir accent the way it’s written.‘And so I just assumed it was.“When Christina checked with the writers, she recalled,“They were hesitant about it at first… They probably thought, ‘Oh, she probably can’t do an American accent… So I did it for the read-through. And they were like, ‘Yeah, let’s keep the American accent.’
