After eight years of being a PlayStation exclusive,Persona 4 Goldenfinally released on PCand it appears it won’t be the last of Sega’s classic IPs to do so.
In Sega’s recent quarterly earnings investor presentation (as translated through Persona Central), the company addresses the unexpected success ofPersona 4 Goldenon PC. Responding to an investor querying the notable success of the port withPersona 4 Goldenselling over 500,000 copiesjust a month after launch, Sega Sammy President and COO Haruki Satomi responded with praise.

Satomi, alongside Sega Sammy Senior Executive Vice President Koichi Fukazawa, noted that because ofPersona 4 Golden’s “critical acclaim and its low selling price,” the sales of the PC Port were “much stronger than expected.” The response further went on to elaborate that Sega has begun to think about porting older titles not just to PC, but numerous platforms.
The company vows to “actively promote porting previously released titles to Steam and new platforms.” Fans are already starting to see this new push from Sega beyond justPersona 4 Goldenon PC. Before the Social Sim meets JRPG made the jump to PC,Catherineand its definitive editionCatherine: Full Bodyboth saw ports to PC and Switch respectively. Even now, the next project in the push for greater porting efforts can be seen with the recently revealedShin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD, which is releasing on Switchand PS4.
Players are eager to see which games make the long awaited jump to modern systems. The big one that has most fans buzzing is a port ofPersona 3 FESwhich was rumored alongside the early rumblings of thePersona 4 GoldenPC port.
