Sony’sPlayStation Nowsubscription service has built up a massive library of more than 700 games over the years. Now, it appears that some of the new games scheduled to be added toPlayStation Nowin October 2021 have been leaked online, and the list seems to include some very interesting titles.

Redditor d3vstator recently shared what appears to be a screenshot showing a number of games recently added to PS Now.PS Now is well-known for having access to great games, but this image shows a variety of new titles including the controversialThe Last of Us 2, the greatly improvedFallout 76, the stealth/westernDesperados 3, a blast from the past in the form ofFinal Fantasy 8 Remastered, and what appears to beYet Another Zombie Defense.

This collection of new and old PlayStation classics could help clear up somecommon misconceptions about PS Now, such as the idea that old games aren’t worth playing. Setting aside the fact thatFallout 76has received a lot of post-launch support and now appears to be much more warmly received than it was at the beginning of its lifetime, the continued popularity ofFinal Fantasy 8over two decades after its initial release is a strong counter to this argument. Graphics may show their age faster and faster each year, but a good game can still be timeless. While divisive,The Last of Us 2was critically acclaimed, and it is a great example of how the service offers newer games as well.

As of writing, fans appear to be cautiously optimistic about this screenshot, with one user mourning their recent decision to drop their PS Now subscription. Several gamers began discussing whetherFallout 76, a seeming new addition toPS Now’s list of multiplayer games, could be completed by solo players. Another user noted thatPS Nowoccasionally adds more than just five games per month and wonders if more titles will be coming, especially sinceYet Another Zombie Defenseseems to be cut off in the screenshot.
