Like most of Rare’s IPs, thePerfect Darkfranchise has been dormant for quite some time. A new entry in the series hasn’t been seen since 2005’sPerfect Dark Zeroon the Xbox 360, and at this point, it would hard to blame fans if they assume that the franchise is dead. However, a new rumor has sparked hope that aPerfect Darkreboot could finally happen, as a supposed industry insider has claimed the game is in development.
This is according to NeoGAF poster Braldryr, who claims to haveleaked Microsoft’s entire E3 2019 press conference. If the supposed “leak” is to be believed, thePerfect Darkreboot has a small chance of appearing at Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference. The game is not being developed by Rare, but rather, Rare is supervising the project. Apparently development is being handled by DLaLa Studios, which is currently working on theBattletoadsreboot.

Braldryr says that thePerfect Darkreboot will be third-person instead of first-person, which is quite the departure for the franchise. However, this claim does fall in line with a previous rumor about thePerfect Darkreboot, though past rumors claimedGears of Warstudio The Coalition was working on the game.
Like any rumors, fans should keep their expectations in check. It’s quite possible that Braldryr is making everything up and the supposedly leaked Microsoft E3 2019 press conference is fake. It’s also possible that thepastPerfect Darkreboot rumorsare made up as well, and the game may not even be in development in any capacity.
But where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and it’s a bit strange that there have been multiple rumors about aPerfect Darkreboot, some from more credible sources. We’d be surprised if thePerfect Darkreboot didn’t exist in some capacity, though fans will just have to wait and see to find out.
With thePerfect Darkreboot labeled as having a “small” chance of being shown at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, fans shouldn’t hold their breath that they will get to see the game at the show on June 9.
