As many gamers would likely agree, E3 2018 contained a bevy of exciting announcements and surprise reveals, with Capcom’s unveiling ofResident Evil 2duringSony’s PlayStation press conferencebeing one of the event’s many highlights. Not only did Capcom deliver a solid reveal trailer for the expo, but also it provided a high-quality gameplay demo for the show floor, with the survival-horror title having been dubbed the Best of Show for E3 2018.
Resident Evil 2had to fend off some pretty stiff competition in order to earn its Best of Show for E3 2018 title, as the forthcoming survival horror release was up against the likes ofAnthem,Spider-man,Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, andSuper Smash Bros.Considering the competition that the Capcom title beat out, it seems as ifRE2is setting itself up for a blowout release at the beginning of next year.

Now thatResident Evil 2has been crowned Best of Show at E3 2018, there’s no doubt that it will turn some heads and increase the excitement of those who were already looking forward to the project’s launch. The previous year’s winner wasThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so if the benchmark of quality continues withRE2getting Best of Show at E3 2018, then fans are likely in for an excellent game.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see what else Capcom plans on showing off as the weeks and months press on towardResident Evil 2going live. The gameplay revealed thus far has been chock full of thrills and gorgeous (albeit gruesome) visuals, and with the studio having promised the project as being a unique experience all its own with familiar elements from the original, it’s a safe bet to make that fans are in store for even more compelling content to come.
