Battle Royale modes are all the rage these days, having found themselves in every game fromFortnitetoBlack Ops 4,and possibly evenModern Warfare 4.Now,Red Dead Onlineis taking a crack at Battle Royale with a new mode titled “Gun Rush”.
The game mode, which is available now inRed Dead Online, will see 32 players gather weapons and ammunition in a continually shrinking zone in either a free-for-all or team format. It doesn’t seem like a departure from any other battle royale modes out there, but players will at least have the benefit of the game’s stellar shooting mechanics and gorgeous visuals as they attempt to outlive the competition.

In addition to the battle royale mode, Xbox One players can now acquire content previously exclusive to the PlayStation 4, such as the Red-Chestnut Arabian horse (which players can acquire for free using this method), Alligator Skin Ranch Cutter Saddle, and the High Roller Double-Action Revolver.
Rockstar also outlined several other changes that will be coming toRed Dead Online’sbeta soon.
No dates were given for the other changes, but they should prove to be welcome updates to the beta, which stirred up some controversy upon its release for what many players thought was an unfair economy. However, Rockstar hassince made balance changes to the gameto help quell those complaints.
For being a beta,Red Dead Onlinedoes pack quite a bit of content for players to work through thanks to the world being just as vast and detailed asRed Dead Redemption 2. Luckily, beta progress will also carry over to the full release ofRed Dead Online, so players don’t have to worry about wasting all the time they’re sure to invest in the battle royale mode.
Red Dead Redemption 2is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
