The TV anime adaptation ofKuroko’s Basketballis already 10 years old. Wrapping up in 2015, the basketball anime won the hearts of many and became a must-watch. Now in 2022, Production I.G. has set out to celebrate the anime’s run.
To celebrate this ten-year anniversary, a brand-new music video for the song “Zero Step” was released, performed by the rock band GRANRODEO. The group made themes forBaki,Duel Love,andBlack God.

The band is particularly special to theKuroko’s Basketballuniverse, as they performed seven of the anime and movie’s theme songs. To make things even more special, Kensho Ono, who voices Kuroko, has featured vocals on the song. Kensho Ono’s work includesYuri Briar fromSpy x Family, Giorno Giovanna fromJojo’s Bizarre Adventure,and Yuya Sakaki frmYu-Gi-Oh!.

An up-and-coming power player, Taiga Kagami, is just back from America. When he comes to Seirin High School, he meets the super-ordinary boy, Tetsuya Kuroko. Kagami is shocked to find that Kuroko isn’t good at basketball, in fact, he’s bad! And he’s so plain that he’s impossible to see. But Kuroko’s plainness lets him pass the ball around without the other team noticing him, and he’s none other than the sixth member of the Miracle Generation.
The artistic team at Production I.G have also reunited to work on one moreKuroko’s Basketballproject. They have created hits such asHaikyuu!!,Ghost in a ShellandEden of the East.Not only did the studio produce the new music video, but the original storyboard artist and director for the anime, Shunsuke Tada, spearheaded the project.
The music video shows the original cast of the anime training, walking, and doing other mundane activities. Kuroko, Kagami, and theGeneration of Miraclesare all featured in the video. The Seirin team have their own segment to open the video, even Tetsuya 2 made an adorable cameo. The other teammates of the Generation of Miracles respective teams also star in the video.
