As the Yautja walksthrough the conference, Hishinde discusses his hunt, justifying his slaughter, saying that those who brandish a weapon are presenting a threat, thus an invitation for combat. Hishinde only kills conference-goers who draw a weapon, even though he believes many of them seem ‘unworthy’, in thehopes that someone will give the Predator an honorable fight.

PredatorComic Confirms Yautja Only Kill Those With Weapons

Weapons are Invitations to Fight in the Eyes of Predators

The warriors seen in Predator are a complicated species. They’re one of the most resilient and best hunters in the galaxy. But despite the way they excel in combat, the Yautja won’t pick a fight with just anyone. They’re a highly honorable species and if they don’t consider someone worthy, Predators generally leave them alone (unless provoked, of course).

But as this comic shows, it’s not just about being unworthy in a Predator’s eyes. Hishinde’s and the Yautja code boils down to honor, and if someone draws a weapon, they see it as a challenge. To not face the challenge is something Yautja can’t abide by, sono matter who draws a weapon, a Predator is going to respond.

The Only Way to Stop a Predator is Not to Engage

Yautja Don’t Want to Waste Time with Non-Warriors

It makes sense that when people see a Yautja attacking, they grab weapons to defend themselves. But in doing so, people only invite a Predator’s wrath. But if a Yaujta like Hishinde sees someone without a weapon, they aren’t going to waste time picking a fight. It’s a bizarre code, but it’s what makes the Predator species who they are.
