New Leak Suggests Avowed Hasn’t Been Delayed
But the game’s release date may have just leaked online, courtesy of Obsidian itself. The mishap coincided with thenewAvowedstory trailer debuting at the latest Xbox Games Showcase. Immediately after the video went live during the June 9 event, the studio published a blog post reflecting on the promo. Aside from some statements from the development team, the article included a casual mention of the game’s apparent release date, November 12. The tidbit of info was spotted by Twitter user Wario64 and subsequently started making the rounds of social media before Obsidian removed it from the post.
Even though this apparent release date isn’t exactly official just yet, its premature reveal does suggest thatAvowedwill manage to hit its 2024 launch window. While Obsidian repeatedly maintained that the game is on course to debut this fall, the fact that it’s still without an official release date has recently given rise to some fan speculation about a potential delay being on the cards, which now appears less likely following this leak.
But even if the mishap never happened,Avowedlacking a release date mere months ahead of its planned debut wouldn’t necessarily have been a cause for concern, not least because Obsidian has lately only been committing to such announcements once its games were effectively done.
