With an endless game likePokemon GO, each type of player has their own goals and idea of endgame content. Some players care about hitting max level, some want100% IV raiding rosters, while others may just want to complete their Pokedex. With the frequent release of new and exciting generations and creatures, that last one can be a bit of a moving target.

Pokemon GOrecently set a few new Pokemon lose in the wild, includingnew evolutions for Eevee. These all take the complete Pokedex number a bit higher and offer new opportunities for trainers to add entries to their collections.

Currently, the max Pokedex available (as of August 10, 2025) is 485. In order to fill in all of those spots, players either need to do some traveling or some well coordinated trading. We’ve broken down how to get up to that elusive 485 goal.

151, with 4 regionals (Mr.Mime, Kangaskhan, Farfetch’d, Tauros)

100, with 2 regionals (Heracross, Corsola)

Hoenn Region

133, with 9 regionals, some of whom rotate (Tropius, Torkoal, Zangoose, Seviper, Siltock, Lunatone, relicanth, Illumise, Volbeat)

Sinnoh Region

99, with 6 regionals (Pachirisu, Chatot, Carnivine, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf)

Note: Not counting Shellos and Gastrodon as regionals because the only difference is the color variation, but you can get the Pokedex entry anywhere.

Be sure to check back in the coming days for more updates, news, and strategy guides. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

It may sound simple enough, but that’s a lot of Pokemon to collect. Many players managed to finish the Gen 1 dex during special events that rotated regionals or allowed regionals to hatch from special eggs. Hopefully similar events will take place in the near future to allow catch up opportunities for the other early generations before the next major release arrives.

Pokemon GOis currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
