The second part ofPokemon GO’s Holiday Event 2021 features two sets of Timed Research: the Friendship Challenge and the Catch Challenge. Both of these sets of Timed Research unfold over just one stage, each of which is composed of five different tasks. For those players that would like to know more about these tasks and their associated rewards, full details onPokemon GO’s Friendship Challenge and Catch Challenge Timed Research can be found in this guide.
To note, thePokemon GOHoliday Event 2021Part 2 Timed Research will only be available until Friday, December 31 at 8pm local time. While this should give fans enough time to complete the tasks, they should not put them off for too long. Players that do not heed this advice may find that they are unable to claim all of the rewards before the new year comes.

The names of these sets of Timed Research are certainly fitting, as the Friendship Challenge tasks are all about sending Gifts, trading Pokemon, and makingfriends inPokemon GO, and the Catch Challenge tasks are all about catching Pokemon. So long as a player has an in-game friend that they can work with, the first set of tasks should be quite easy to complete. And the Holiday Event 2021 has made encountering Ice-type Pokemon much more common, simplifying the second set of tasks.
Among the Ice-type Pokemon that players will encounter as they work on the Catch Challenge isBergmite, who is making its in-game debut during this event. Bergmite’s evolution, Avalugg, is also now available inPoGO, and players will need 50 Bergmite Candy to perform the transformation. Now is the perfect time to be accumulating this evolution-inducing Candy, as Bergmite has an increased spawn rate until the Holiday Event 2021 comes to a close.
