Pokemon GOhas finally introduced Mega Evolution, and with it comes a new set of Special Research tasks designed to give players a running start on the new features. “A Mega Discovery” is available in-game now, and offers players a crash-course on Mega Pokemon and Evolution.
The Special Research challenge is titled “A Mega Discovery,” and is split up into four stages. Players may be tempted to think that this “discovery” somehow leads toVictini, the next Mythical Pokemon, but that is unfortunately not the case. Completing this set of research tasks will simply equip a player with the tools necessary to Mega Evolve a Beedrill inPokemon GO.

As stated above,“A Mega Discovery” consists of four stages, which present Pokemon Trainers with the following Research Tasks:
Part 4 of 4
Rewards:25 Beedrill Mega Energy, 1,500 Stardust, 5,000 XP
Thankfully, this set of tasks is on the simpler side, and can realistically be completed within a day or two without spending coins, or having toconsider a potentialPokemon GOsubscription service. Players who act quickly will be able to add a powerful Mega Pokemon to their battle teams without much trouble, but, anyone hoping to get their hands on a flashier Mega Pokemon, like Charizard X, will have to put in some extra scout work.
Players should also note that only one Pokemon can be Mega Evolved at a time inPokemon GO. Once another Pokemon is Mega Evolved, the already-evolved Pokemon will revert to its normal state, which is analogous tousual Mega Evolution mechanics. And although the pool of available Mega Pokemon remains rather small, players can at least celebrate the fact that Shiny Mega Pokemon were introduced from the get-go, rather than later on as some part of cumbersome event. If there’s anything that holds true across the board of Pokemon fandom, it’s that Shiny Pokemon are never unwelcome.
Pokemon GOis available now on the App Store and Google Play.
