Pokemon GO’s2019 Community Day Weekend Eventis officially underway, which means that players are out and about taking advantage of extended spawn times until 9pm today and tomorrow. As it turns out, Niantic has another surprise end of year treat for players, as well.
In addition to all of thePokemon GODecember Community Day Weekend bonuses and special raids, trainers will also find a new Special Research series of tasks available when they login. The tasks are incredibly easy and actually offer very valuable rewards.

The three tasks are all the same, “Catch 19 Pokemon.” That would be an easy challenge on any day, but considering the increased spawns forCommunity Day Weekend, it seems impossible not to complete this series. Finishing all three identical tasks nets players a bit of XP, but more important provides some great reward items. Trainers will walk away from the Celebrate 2019 Research with 20 Ultra Balls, 1 Unova Stone, and 9 Rare Candy.
Although there’s only one stage worth of rewards, the Research is still very valuable.Unova Stones are fairly rare at this point, so most players will be very excited at the opportunity to pick one up without doing much extra work at all. Players should be sure to check back in tomorrow to see if there are any additional bonuses up for grabs on the second day of the Community Weekend Event.
For now, players may want to keep hunting downthe best Unova Pokemon in the gameif improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for morePokemon GOstrategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
