The first event ofPokemon GO’sSeason of Discoveryofficially kicks off today withA Very Slow Discovery. This event mainly focuses on the beloved Pokemon Slowpoke, other lazy Pokemon, and even some active ones.

As far as the Field Research Tasks,Pokemon GOtrainers have quite a handful laid out ahead of them. While some of these focus on catching and evolving Pokemon, others give players the daunting task of completing Raids in a timely manner. In spite of the laidback Pokemon, trainers may not want to delay this too long, asA Very Slow Discoveryonly runs until June 13.

A Very Slow Discovery Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Altogether there are nine tasks to complete and, as expected, some very slow rewards. That said, a lot of the tasks lend tons of help to one another, such as the many Slowpoke received from encounters that could then be evolved. Additionally, a few of these crossover with the Collection Challenge forA Very Slow Discoveryand theSpecial Raid Weekend coming up on June 12, meaning if trainers player their cards right, they can knock out multiple event tasks in one go.

Here are all of the field research tasks and rewards forA Very Slow Discovery:

In any case, one thing made clear by this event is slow is the way to go, as focusing solely on catching and evolving Slowpoke is the most efficient way to complete most of the tasks. Of course, trainers expecting a quick raid against Mega Slowbro better think twice before going in unprepared. A battle against the dual Water and Psychic-type will go by just as slow without any Bug, Dark, Grass, Electric, orGhost-typeswith the right moves and decent CP.

That doesn’t mean trainers are stuck with Slowbro only. As said before, the event focuses on numerous lazy Pokemon, increasing their spawn rates as well. In addition to Slowpoke, trainers can also expect to see the likes of Psyduck, Gulpin, and more while exploring the landscape inPokemon GO.
