PokemonandMonster Hunterhave both had a successful year thus far, with the Nintendo brand’s ARG,Pokemon GO, still generating$70 million in monthly revenue, while Capcom’sMH Worldhas already become the publisher and developer’s best-selling game ever. A prosperous 2018 isn’t the only thing the two IPs have in common, though, as both of the games' worlds involve humans and magical creatures living side-by-side. With these similarities in mind, one talented fan of both titles decided to create some incredible-looking crossover art for the two franchises.
As seen below in the Imgur album shared by thePokemonandMonster Hunterfan known on Reddit as “Ayann”, gamers can get a gander at some fantastic art conceptualizing what it would be like if creatures from the Nintendo role-playing game were capable of being hunted for supplies in the Capcom action-RPG. With so many Pokemon from which to choose, the artist focuses primarily on the types of armor sets fan-favorite Pokemon like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charizard would yield.
As many would likely agree, crossovers are all the rage these days, and Ayann’s concept art mashing up the styles ofPokemonandMonster Hunterdoes a wonderful job of imagining how both properties would work should both of their worlds ever collide in video game form. Of course, we likely won’t seePokemon-related wares inMonsterHunter’s latest entry,MH World, any time soon, the latter release has already been host to a variety of different titles by including content inspired byMega Man,Street Fighter, and evenFinal Fantasy 14.
All things considered, Ayann has definitely provided some food for thought when it comes to how actual Pokemon would be treated if they ever showed up in any futureMonster Huntergames, as most players would be out to kill and gut the creatures for resources. Without a doubt, if Professor Oak knew that would be the end goal for some trainers, then he would never hand over a single starter Pokemon ever again.
A brand newPokemongame is set to be releasing at the end of 2019, whileMonster Hunter’s latest entry,Monster Hunter Worldis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
