As part of the busy fall season for game news, Gamescom is coming to Cologne, Germany next week. Many developers and companies are expected to attend this increasingly-influential event, Sony included. In fact, Sony just announced its lineop, including, but not limited to,Final Fantasy 7 Remake,MediEvil, and more.

While Sony won’t be holding a press conference or presentation atGamescomthis year, its show floor setup will include some highly-anticipated games with demos available for attendees. First-party games that will be on the floor includeDreams,MediEvil,Concrete Genie, andReadySet Heroes.Third-party titles includeFinal Fantasy 7 Remake,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,Control,andGranblue Fantasy Versus.

Gamescom 2019 will be held August 20-24 in Cologne, Germany. On Monday night, the Opening Night Live two-hour presentation will feature new games announcements, gameplay demonstrations, and trailers from studios like Activision, Bungie, EA, Epic Games, Square Enix, PlayStation, Xbox, and more. Geoff Keighley of Game Awards fame was specifically contacted by Gamescom organizers to make the Opening Night Live event happen, and to set the tone for the week to come. Interested parties will be able to watch the livestream of the event on the Gamescom official YouTube.

This year’s Gamescom is already shaping up to be a good event. For one, while scarce details are available, Hideo Kojima is confirmed to be in attendance and has something big to share aboutDeath Stranding.Fans are hoping for more gameplay information, but Kojima is mysterious to say the least. There have also beenrumors floating about a possible newResident Eviltitlesoon, with Capcom even recruiting people in Japan to test out parts of the game.

Major Nelson of Xbox recently mentioned that Microsoft is planning a major presence for Gamescom. Nelson has confirmed there will be over 200 game demo stations available with a plethora of Xbox and PC games. There will also anotherInside Xbox presentation, a popular presentation format with more news of upcoming games, trailers, and more.
