Prior to this specific success forPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it was obvious that Microsoft had been putting a lot of stock in the prosperity of the title on its current generation console, especially since the company has been rumored to be looking into extendingPUBG’s exclusivity on the system well into the middle of 2018. Not to mention, the tech giantbegan selling DLC before the game’s launchon Xbox One, primingPUBGfor sales before it event went live.

ConsideringPlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds' prosperous launch for the Xbox One, Microsoft can only hope for even more to come in a short period. It’s currently a timed-exclusive on the console, which gives it a head start on the competition, but with the founder of the game having already confirmeddiscussions of a PS4 version happening with Sony, a PlayStation 4 edition of the title could cut into the Xbox One iteration’s profits in a major way.
