Although PewDiePie continues to upload videos regularly, theYouTuber takes breaks from uploadingwhenever it feels right to him. PewDiePie recently took a month-long break from uploading to YouTube to take day trips in Italy with his wife Marzia. This isn’t the first time the YouTube content creator has taken a month off as he began the annual practice back in 2016.
PewDiePie admitted to being unhappy with his recent video in which he reviewedMr Beast’s Squid Gamedespite the fact that the video is one of his most-viewed in recent history. PewDiePie admitted that Mr Beast is seemingly becoming YouTube’s new poster child and he stated that he’s a fan of the newer YouTube channel. During his recent video, PewDiePie praised Mr Beast’s usage of CGI and stated that he just wants to do videos the way he’s always done them rather than trying to compete with Mr Beast.
PewDiePie claims that he’s never been intohis YouTube popularityin terms of the attention that he gets as a result of it. According to PewDiePie, the more he branches out into other content, the more his fans lament the fact that he isn’t doing videos like the ones they fell in love with. While highlighting his variety of YouTube content, PewDiePie praised his cooking, IRL, gaming, philosophy, talking, and collab videos. Although fans are worried about his views on such videos, PewDiePie continues to receive millions of views on his YouTube videos.
Although PewDiePie’s community largely seems to want the YouTuber to return to previous content, PewDiePie doubled down on his recent content switch as he’s just “trying to have fun” since hisYouTube retirement. PewDiePie compared his shift inYouTubecontent to changing and growing up, but it may have to do with his retirement reducing his attention to which of his videos is bringing in the most views, likes, etc. PewDiePie addressed a common criticism with content creators that their viewers just want them to stick to specific content, but that often prevents content creators from doing what they want and being themselves.
