Peter Parker’s Son Just Became the Ultimate Venom, and Miles Morales Is to Blame

Multiversal shenanigans may have accelerated Richard Parker’s transformation into Earth-6160’s version of Venom, but his new name is paying off a story that’s been creepilybuilding since the beginning ofUltimate Spider-Man. Peter first got a Picotech suit from Iron Lad when the Ultimate Universe’s young Tony Stark gave him everything he needed to become Spider-Man as an adult, including a spider with a radioactive bite. However, the suit was sentient and materialized as a black substance that strongly resembled the Venom symbiote. It grew attached to Peter, replaced him, and ultimately“bonded”with Peter’s son, Richard.
Spider-Man’s iconic black suit famously came from the Venom symbiote, and now thatRichard has his own version of the black-suit Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe, fans have been picking up on the hints that he was destined to become Venom. It’s so clear thatafter the three Spider-Men fight Spot, Miles also just assumes that Richard is this alternate universe’s version of the parasitic alien hero with a young human host. Richard already had the sentient black suit with a strange bond to him, and now he’s officially called “Venom” after adopting the name because of Miles’ suggestion.
