Starzreleased new teaser images for the upcomingOutlanderprequel series,Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and we’ve got our first look at an OG character from the book series making her debut appearance on the screen.Outlander: Blood of My Bloodis set for releaseon August 04, 2025, and we have some new photos to pore over.
The series is based on the books of the same name by Diana Gabaldon, butOutlander: Blood of My Bloodis an original creation for television, and tells the story of how Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) parents met in 18th-century Scotland and how Claire Beauchamp’s (Caitríona Balfe) parents met in England during World War I.
Fans are particularly excited to see Ellen MacKenzie, played by Harriet Slater.Ellen has never been seen on screen or in the novelsbut is frequently mentioned in both. Though she’s beenseen before in an earlierOutlanderphoto dump, we get a better look at her here in these pictures.

The Series Is Paying Attention To Costuming And Set Design
These new photos for Outlander: Blood of My Blood are an exciting peek into what we can expect from theOutlanderprequel series. While none of the photos give anything specific away, they reveal what we can expect from some of the characters. For one, the couples look great, and like the parents of Jamie and Claire.
Ellen MacKenzie, in particular, looks like what you would imagine the Scottish mother of a dashing Highland warrior looks like. The photo of Ellen and Brian and Julia, and Henry walking hand-in-hand, separated by a wall of stone, also offers an interesting parallel between the two couples, suggesting their stories may be similar.
The other photos include images of Ned Gowan (Conor MacNeill), Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser (Rory Alexander), Dougal MacKenzie (Sam Retford), and Colum MacKenzie (Séamus McLean Ross), all posed in a variety of imposing or scheming stances, suggesting their characterizations and goals.These photos certainly show that Starz will not be skimping on the costumingor the production.

These actors certainly look the part of characters who would be found in anOutlanderproduction. As Ellen MacKenzie is frequently mentioned in theOutlanderbooks, her character in the show is going to be highly scrutinized. Judging by these photos alone, it appears thatOutlander: Blood of My Bloodunderstands how critical she is.
