Senua’s Saga: Hellbalde 2 Is Headed To PS5 In August
What’s Included & Why You Should Play
Senua’s Sagais undergoing some major enhancements before its arrival on PS5. Bothgraphics and performance are being revamped- after the update, the game will look and play better than ever before. This comes with the introduction of a Performance Mode that prioritizes runningSenua’s Sagaat 60 FPS.
All of these enhancements will be available to players on other platforms in a free update on August 12.

In addition,Senua’s Sagawill have a Photo Mode on PS5, allowing you to capture screenshots of its beautiful vistas and share them with friends. Those who purchase the Deluxe Edition will also receive theSenua’s Sagadigital soundtrack.
This is somewhat of the reverse of the originalHellblade’s release strategy; once a PS4 exclusive,it was later ported to Xbox Oneseveral months after its initial release. After the release of the first game,Hellbladetied itself to Xbox, with a day-one Game Pass release and timed console exclusivity. Now, it’s coming to a wider range of consoles, which is always a good thing.
With its 81 Metacritic score,Hellblade 2is one of the highest-rated Xbox-exclusive games of 2024.Screen Rant’s reviewcalled it “Horrifying, uplifting, and visually splendid,” and praised its improvements over the first game. It follows the titular protagonist closely, portraying her psychosis - which can be a help as well as a hindrance - in an unflinching work of psychological horror. Backgrounded by real-time action combat and a powerful story,Senua’s Sagais a cinematic experience that’s not to be missed.
Criticism of its original release focused on its relatively short runtime- under 10 hours of gameplay for, upon its release, a $70 price tag. That criticism has been addressed by its PS5 release, however; you can now purchaseSenua’s Sagafor as little as $50.
Our Take: More Xbox Games On PS5 Is Always Great
Exclusivity On The Decline
Followingthings likeIndiana Jones,Senua’s Sagais just the latest in a long line of Xbox games coming to PS5. It signals an end of an era:console exclusivity is on its way outas Xbox focuses in on publishing games and making hardware partnerships with other manufacturers.
That’s always a good thing. More players being able to accesss such a highly-rated and beloved game - at a lower price, even - will help boost sales and provide players with a worthwhile experience. As a result, I’m rooting forSenua’s Saga: Hellblade 2on PS5.
