Although Nintendo recently announced that any digital purchases made on the upcoming Nintendo Switch console aretied to the Nintendo account, rather than the specific piece of hardware, it seems that there is currently no way to download the software on multiple systems. At a recent preview event, showing off launch title1-2-Switch, Nintendo Entertainment planning & development general manager Shinya Takahashi confirmed that, as of right now, there is no way to play digital purchases on multipleNintendo Switchsetups.

As seen in this video, courtesy of YouTuberCrazyDopetastic, Takahashi admitted the disappointing news to fans but leaves a glimmer of hope for those looking to own multiple Nintendo Switch consoles:

“Currently we don’t have a system like that in place for Nintendo Switch,” Shinya Takahashi announced.“But we haven’t made any final decisions about how we would approach that going forward in the future, so unfortunately I can’t provide any concrete answer for you right now.”

So it seems that while any eShop purchases made on the Nintendo Switch are tied to the account, rather than the hardware itself, perhaps the accounts themselves are locked to the system and only one eShop account can be online at a time. This is pure speculation at this point, though it seems strange that there is no confirmation considering that the highly-anticipated console is launching in less than a fortnight.

What is available, however, is anofficial unboxing videofor the Nintendo Switch, allowing players to see exactly what comes with their new system when March 3 rolls around. Unfortunately for fans of the Big N, the publishers has confirmed that there will beno pack-in Switch games or demofor players to enjoy, meaning that unless picking up one of the limited launch line-up, the Nintendo Switch will not hold a lot of entertainment in itself.

What do you think about the lack of game sharing on the Nintendo Switch?
