Nintendo Switch Online and its Expansion Pack give Switch gamers the chance to play all kinds of classic Nintendo games from years past. And as it so happens, there are already somePokemongames readily available to play through the service. This includesPokemon Snap,Pokemon Puzzle League, and the originalPokemon Stadiumgame.

New Switch Online Games August 2023

ManyPokemonfans will no doubt be excited for the opportunity to relive these classicPokemongames through their Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscription. However, some will be disappointed aboutPokemon Stadium 2’s lack of Pokemon transfer. A hugely important feature in the originalPokemon Stadium 2was theability to transfer Pokemon from the Game Boy games to the N64 cartridge, but as we saw with the originalPokemon Stadium, that’s unfortunately lost with the Switch Online versions.

In fact, the main series Game BoyPokemongames aren’t even available to play through Switch Online at the time of this writing.Pokemonfans have been holding out hope forGeneration 1 gamesRed,Blue, andYellow, as well as Generation 2 gamesGold,Silver, andCrystal, but none have them have been confirmed for Switch Online at the time of this writing.

It’s possible that themain seriesPokemongamesfrom the Game Boy era will eventually come to Switch Online, but nothing is guaranteed. On the bright side,Pokemonfans still have multiple games from the series to play on Switch Online, with the lineup includingPokemon Trading Card GameandPokemon Stadium 2after today.
