Nintendo is askingPokemonfans what they want to see from the franchise in the future. ThePokemonseries has been around for over two decades, producing dozens of games and working its way towards its ninth generation inPokemon ScarletandViolet. Alongside the mainline entries that accompany each generation,Pokemonalso has a series of spin-offsthat give fans a different experience from trying to be the best there ever was. There are the turn-based RPGs ofPokemon Mystery Dungeon, for example, as well as the MOBAPokemon Unite.
With so many spin-offs and games already available within thePokemonuniverse, it isn’t exactly surprising that Nintendo is asking fans their opinions on which titles they prefer. It’s not unheard of for a gaming company to ask for feedback from its player base in a survey. For example, back in April,Activision Blizzard held a controversial surveyasking fans what they thought of the inclusion of NFTs in gaming.

The first option to answer the question about whatPokemonfans want to see in the future refers to a game similar in nature toPokemon GO. The second choice discusses anopen-world adventure similar toPokemon ScarletandViolet, which contrasts with the fourth box that asks fans whether they want a more traditional style ofPokemongame with a linear structure. Something that fans may find puzzling is the lack of mention ofPokemon Legends: Arceus, which saw incredible success when it released earlier this year.
Pokemon Legends: Arceusdid not appear in the question posted by SpaceEV, but the Reddit user did state that it was mentioned in a previous question within the survey. It is interesting that Nintendo appears to be actively requesting fan feedback to see whatPokemonplayers want to see for the future of the franchise. Whether this survey will actually sway the company on what games to make next is unknown, but many are hoping to see anewPokemon Mystery Dungeonsor remake soon.
