PC gamers will be happy to know thatNieR: Automatafinally has a release date set for their platform: March 17. The news was broken today on Twitter by the developer Platinum Games to general acclaim. Up to now it was uncertain when the PC version of the game would launch, though the studio had assured fans that one was in the works. The PS4 release ofNieR: Automatais set for March 7 and 10, depending on whether buyers live in North America or Europe, respectively.
Why exactly the PC version is coming later is unknown, but at least PC gamers now know for sure when they, too, can join in on the robot-smashing fun ofNieR: Automata.Thegame went goldabout a month ago already and has been available in Japan since February 23. Apparently, according to the developers,NieR: Automatawould have been out last year already, but due to unforeseen circumstances was delayed until this month.
The story ofNieR: Automatafollows Android 2B as she runs around the open world of the game destroying robotic opponents, all the while wearing a faintlytoo short skirt. When the game was first announced, the developers promised they would improve on itspredecessorNieR’s lackluster combatand many who have had a chance to play around with thedemo forNieR: Automatafeel that has been achieved. The action is rather fast-paced and features impressive combos and challenging enemies.
Thecharacter system in NieR: Automatahas also been well thought-out, with players having the ability to easily pick up where they left off after losing a particular battle and are even able to take their characters online and continue the fight there. Besides pulse-racing combat, the game will also allow players to explore the secrets of itsopen worldand work their way through a twisting story. All in all, PC gamers are likely overjoyed to have this versatile title available to them.
