The next few months will be ripe with video game reveals and live streams thanks to events likeSummer of Gamingand one-off announcements from studios. PlayStation periodically puts on State of Play, a Nintendo Direct style conference full of news for fans of the brand. The next one will be happening soon, and it will be about a highly anticipated game.
On May 14 at 1 pm PST, Sony will be hosting a State of Play dedicated toGhost of Tsushima,the forthcoming open-world action game from Sucker Punch.Ghost of Tsushimahas been making the rounds for quite some time, but there’s still relatively little known about it for a game that releases in just a few months.Ghost of Tsushimagameplayhas been shown at some events, but not much.

Ghost of Tsushimawas delayedfollowingThe Last of Us 2being pushed back, giving both games breathing room. WhileLast of Usis the more anticipated game,Ghost of Tsushimais promising in its own right, featuring some of the most stunning visuals of this generation, judging by the trailers.
According to Sony, the “current cut” is about 18 minutes long, and will show off combat, exploration, and more. It’s a healthy chunk of the game, and should be about the best look fans have had yet, assuming it sticks to gameplay. The blog post also revealed that there will be no PS5 news in the event, instead “just a big, beautiful look at Sucker Punch’s PS4 open-world epic.”
The last bit may be disappointing to some fans, as Sony has remained tight-lipped about the PlayStation 5.Rumored PS5 reveal datesand price points have continually leaked online, but nothing has turned out to be legitimate yet, to the chagrin of fans.
Ghost of Tsushimais getting pretty close, with the game expected to release in mid-July. Coronavirus has caused delays for games and movies, but things seem to be smooth sailing forGhost of Tsushima, at least as far as what has been revealed to the public. It’ll be a few weeks before fans know for sure, but the last year of the PS4 seems promising.
