Believe it or not, E3 is now only two months away and already companies like Bethesda are teasing out what fans can expect to see at this year’s event. Even though Electronic Arts is once againholding its own show during E3as they did last year, the company is planning to show off a number of games including the latest IP from the original Mass Effect team at BioWare Edmonton codenamedDylan.
Though the company has apparently beenworking on this new IP since 2012without any sort of leaks, this latest report comes from Liam ‘Unseen64’ Robertson and his most recent Patreon podcast. According to Robertson, BioWare is currently working on a massive sci-fi inspired game that represents EA’s attempt to tap into the MMO-lite market, currently held by games likeDestinyandTom Clancy’s The Division.

Details are of course slim, though it appears thatDylanmay be the biggest project the studio has ever done, which also includes the recently releasedMass Effect Andromeda. Interestingly enough, BioWare has previously confirmed thatDylanattempts to bring friends together to play in new ways and the title as a whole ismore of an action adventure game, its first non-RPG project sinceMDK2.EA has previously stated that the mysterious IP is expected prior to March 2018, it’s a safe bet that E3 would be the perfect venue to unveil the title to fans.
Most recently, the Edmonton team helped BioWare Montreal put the finishing touches onMass Effect Andromeda, the studio has subtly found other ways to tease out the project. Last year at GDC, BioWare’s Senior Director of Creative Development, Alistair McNally, wore a shirt at the conference withthe name of the new IP on it. While something like that would have sent the internet into a frenzy of activity, for the entire length of the event no one noticed or said anything.
