About a year ago, Capcom stated thatit would increase Nintendo Switchsupport following the success ofUltra Street Fighter 2: The Final Challengerson the hybrid mobile console. Now, it looks as if the company is continuing to make good on the promise by announcing that multiple entries from the iconic survival horror franchise,Resident Evil, are making their way onto the platform.

As indicated by the tweet below from Capcom USA, the video game publisher and developer will be bringing the originalResident Evil,Resident Evil 0, andResident Evil 4to the Nintendo Switch. Other than saying that theREtitles are coming in 2019, though, the company has yet to provide an exact time frame as to when players should expect to see the survival horror games on the system. However, it did assure fans that there will be more information about the titles coming to Switch “soon”.

For those unaware, the arrival ofResident Evil,Resident Evil 0, andResident Evil 4won’t mark the first instance of games from Capcom’s long-running survival horror being ported for the Nintendo Switch. As a matter of fact, the publisher and developer releasedResident Evil 7: Cloud Versionfor the console not too long ago. However, it’s worth noting that this iteration ofRE7is only officially available in Japan at the moment.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if Capcom takes a similar route when it comes toResident Evil,Resident Evil 0, andResident Evil 4’s distribution models for the Switch. The company would stand to save loads of money if it eschewed physical releases, so there’s a possibility that each of these titles could wind up being digital-only releases on the Big N’s hardware. That said, though, we will simply have to wait and see what Capcom has in mind for the titles when the go live for Switch.
