During Sony’s E3 presentation last week, many gamers were excited to get a glimpse of the upcoming RPG,Monster Hunter World. Now, a longer gameplay walkthrough has been released ofMonster Hunter World, adding to the growing hype for the next installment of theMonster Hunteruniverse.
The gameplay forMonster Hunter World, which can be seen below, shows off quite a few features coming in the fast-paced action title. Along with additional dinosaur-fighting gameplay, the video highlights how the UI in the game works, allowing gamers to easily use the skills and weapons they want in battle.
During the video, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explains that the “World” inMonster Hunter Worldrefers to the vast, open, and dynamic world of monsters available to gamers the game. Gamers can also use the fighting style, weapons, and skills that best suit their gameplay, allowing them to create their own experiences in the world.
Prior to the game’s reveal at Sony’s E3 press conference, many gamers were expecting to see the title make an appearance after it was discovered thatCapcom had trademarkedMonster Hunter Worldin the US. It was a bit surprising to see it shown during Sony’s press conference, as theMonster Hunterfranchise has typically been tied to Nintendo platforms.
For now,Monster Hunter Worldwill be heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with no plans to bring it to Nintendo Switch. There is still aMonster Huntercoming to Switch, but it is a port of the 3DS’Monster Hunter Generationsand right now it is only targeting a Japanese release. IfMonster Hunter XXdoes not release in the US, that leaves American Nintendo Switch owners without aMonster Huntertitle in the foreseeable future.
Based only on the above gameplay, it looks like gamers on current-gen consoles and PC will have a lot to look forward to whenMonster Hunter Worldreleases next year. And Capcom promises that there will be even more demos of the game available soon, allegedly of a higher quality than the footage soon today.
Monster Hunter Worldis expected to release in early 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
