A new bug has appeared inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareadding to the long list of glitches and problems within the popular title. This bug seems to be only affectingModern Warfarewith no appearance recorded inWarzoneas of yet.

The bug made its appearance midmatch by changing a very minor detail in the player’s HUD. Although glitches are common in the game, they can often be annoying or ruin a match entirely depending on the severity of the problem.Infinity Ward fixes bugs in every updateand season, but new ones always seem to take their place.

The bug was noticed by a fan on Reddit who was midmatch on Piccadilly with full ammo. Their ammo bar read 30/220 rounds as they round the corner and headed into a nearby shop. As they pass over a body wielding the same gun as theirs, the ammo remaining changes. Rather than increasing, the ammo remaining drops to 30/180 robbing the player of 40 rounds.

Although this is only a 40 point jump, the lack of ammo can make a big difference, asSMGs, Assault Rifles, and LMGsall rely on having a steady supply of ammunition.

Many of thebest loadouts forWarzoneandModern Warfaretake advantage of the extra ammo increases. The change in ammo capacity could easily be the game resetting the number to what it believes is the default ammo capacity.

With the recent addition of the FENNEC, many players are taking advantage of thesecondary ammo trickto boost their ammo supply. Although this trick has been a feature in several previous installments ofCall of Duty;theModern Warfareengine might not be aware of it. The game considers the correct ammo reserve to be 180. When the player tries to pick up more ammo the game does a recheck and resets it to the standard reserve.

It is unknown when the bug will be fixed, but it’s certainly not how the game is expected to operate. Either way, fans using any of the ammo tricks or exploits should avoid enemy bodies, as they may provide an unexpected ammo drain.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
