Although the release date forMetal Gear Surviveis not long from now, the video game publisher and developer Konami has decided to give fans who missedthe game’s first betaa shot at taking part in another one across each of the title’s platforms of PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The company will officially have the three-day beta period run from Friday, February 16 through February 18, which is just a few days before the game’s launch.
TheMetal Gear Survivebeta is going to include three missions set across two maps in co-op mode, which can be played online with up to four players. Konami will also be including special daily missions for those who want to get the most out of the trial. What’s more is that players who complete character creation during the beta will be rewarded with an in-game bonus that will carry over to the full game. The bonus will consist of a Fox Hound name plate, aMetal GearREX head accessory, and a bandana.

Many were wary at first when it came to Konami’s reveal ofMetal Gear Surviveafter its falling out with the original series' creator, Hideo Kojima. As a matter of fact, just two days after the first gameplay demo for the title was posted to YouTube,it received a flood of “dislikes"and negative comments. However, most who took part in the last beta seemed to have enjoyed themselves, despite their admittance that the game lacks the true spirit of the franchise’s previous releases.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see ifMetal Gear Survive’s second beta period attracts more players than its first, especially with the title’s launch occurring shortly thereafter. Of course, it’s safe to presume that there will be many devoutMetal Gearfans who will maintain a hard stance against supporting Konami after its aforementioned high profile divorce from Kojima.
Metal Gear Surviveis set to launch on August 05, 2025 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
