Sweetpea, the comedic horror thriller starring Ella Purnell, has cast a Marvel star. Debuting back in October 2024 on Starz in the U.S., the story centers on Rhiannon Lewis (Purnell). Although she seems to live a normal life, a string of events leads Rhiannon to develop a penchant for murder. The premise garnered buzz, and a postive 87% score on Rotten Tomatoes, leading to aSweetpeaseason 2 renewal.

The thriller, created by Kristie Swain, has also added three-time BAFTA nominee Tamsin Greig (Episodes,Belgravia) as the mother of AJ, who is Rhiannon’s co-worker and ex. Filming is also officially underway onseason 2 in London.

However, she’s starting to wonder whether her ex, AJ, was right about her being a monster. Although not explicitly confirmed, it certainly sounds like Shah is playing the rebound.

While it’s easy to predict that Gabriel will become collateral damage to Rhiannon’s rage, the real fun will be getting to see how Shah and Purnell play off each other and whether there will be a twist in place that reveals there’s more to the rebound than meets the eye.
