Madden NFL 26 Confirmed For Nintendo Switch 2

A previous version of this article claimed that a Nintendo Switch 2 version ofMadden NFL 26hadn’t yet been confirmed despite leaks. A Switch 2 port has now been confirmed byNintendo’s listing, and the article has been udpated accordingly.

Both of EA Sports' football series,Madden NFLandCollege Football, have had the release dates for their new installments confirmed, but they’re also being bundled together for a limited time.Maddenhas been releasing annually for over 30 years, butCollege Footballonly recently made its triumphant return with thefreshCollege Football 25.

EA Sports College Football 26will release on July 10, whileMadden NFL 26will arrive later on August 14, but per a trailer from theMadden NFLYouTube channel, you can purchase both games' deluxe editions together in the MVP Bundle. Pre-orders for the MVP Bundle are available now viaEA’s website for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The MVP Bundle costs $150, saving you roughly $50 compared to buying both $100 deluxe editions separately.

What’s Included With The MVP Bundle

Both Deluxe Editions & Some Extra Bonuses

EA’s listing lays out pretty clearly what’s included in theMadden NFL 26andCollege Football 26MVP Bundle. Interestingly, the bundle doesn’t appear to be coming to Nintendo’s new console, which was confirmed to be gettingMadden 26after its Switch 2 version leakedrecently. The full contents of the MVP Bundle are as follows:

Base games

Road to Glory Skill Points

Player Card Exclusive Item

The One The Clock Pack featuring Travis Hunter is only available if you pre-order the MVP Bundle by April 29.

The MVP Bundle is essentially just a combination of the two deluxe editions, but with some additionalMaddenandCollege FootballUltimate Teamitems. This makes the MVP Bundle a pretty solid deal if you were already planning on purchasing the deluxe editions of both games, and getting Heisman-winner Travis Hunter in both games for pre-ordering early might be a nice cherry on top for dedicated fans.

Our Take: EA Is Trying To Force Your Hand By Giving You 5 Days To Secure Travis Hunter

The MVP Bundle Probably Isn’t Worth It Unless You’re A Huge Fan Of Both Games

Looking purely at the numbers, the MVP Bundle is a pretty good deal – you’ll save $50 if you were already going to get the deluxe editions of bothMadden NFL 26andCollege Football 26. Putting a limited timeframe to secure the Travis Hunter player item for both games, however, is clearlya move by EA to get people on the fence to purchase the games well ahead of release. Yearly sports sims are largely a known quantity, but my personal advice is to never pre-order games; you’re able to wait for reviews and get them digitally the day they release anyway.

If you already know you’re going to put many hours into both of EA’s football games this year, then the MVP Bundle might be for you, but giving players only five days to secure an in-game item with a pricey pre-order is anti-consumer. It’s designed to elicit impulse purchases, preying on customers' feelings that they’ll miss out on this enticing digital item. PuttingMadden NFL 26andCollege Football 26together in one bundle is a great idea, and might save some players quite a bit of money, but you should always be wary of pre-order bonuses that are available for a limited time.
