Season 3 ofMarvel Rivalssees a lot of changes made to its progression systems, mainly around how you earn valuable Chrono Tokens. In the past, it took me weeks to build enough Chrono Tokens to earn everything a seasonal Battle Pass offers. While long overdue, the changes surrounding how fast you earn in-game currency should make it far easier to collect rewards before shorter seasons end.

Starting with Season 3,seasonal content only lasts two months instead of three, making it harder to earn every item from a Battle Pass. Normally, Daily Missions, Weekly Challenges, and other in-game events will help you earn Chrono Tokens to buy everything in a Battle Pass eventually. Althoughany Battle Pass you buy stays aroundforever, the amount of Tokens you get has always been limited until now.

Missions Give You More Chrono Tokens In Season 3

Extra Currency Will Help You Progress Faster

The way Chrono Tokens are distributed is altered in Season 3 so thatyou get more Tokens for finishing any type of mission. Although many hero-specific missions have been removed entirely, a wider variety of mission types will be available for you to gain Chrono Tokens at a faster rate. This will allow you to reach the milestones of 200–600 Tokens needed to buy any individual Battle Pass item quickly.

In my opinion, this should have been a change that existed in Season 2, or even Season 1 already. The rate at which players have gained Chrono Tokens has always been slow, making it hard to go through an entire Battle Pass before a season ends. Since recent patches have allowed you to convert Tokens intoUnits or Lattice inMarvel Rivalstoo, it just makes sense to have the purple currency more available.

Daily Missions Are Gone, But Weekly & Seasonal Ones Remain

Rotating Challenges Are Far Easier To Approach

Despite Season 3 missions giving more Chrono Tokens, the selection of challenges has been heavily adjusted. There are no more Daily Missionsin the game, as their Tokens have been distributed to other objectives. Instead, Weekly Missions now roll over and remain among your available challenges, giving you until the mid-season update to complete them and claim their rewards.

Similarly, seasonal missions will also last until the end of a Season, with some even being able to be completed multiple times for the same earnings. This makes it far easier to log in and pursue straightforward goals tied to Chrono Tokens right away. In the past, I would have to play one match just to get 80 Tokens from a mission tied to a single character, but now I have far fewer restrictions on earning a larger amount of currency.

Due to Seasonal and Weekly missions being the main challenges available, it will take more time to complete them to gain currency for new Season 3 cosmetics. That being said, these goals will be far easier to finish inMarvel Rivals, with the change making Chrono Tokens something you can earn rapidly for a steadier progression system.
