Forza Horizon 5has finally made the jump to PlayStation despite the series having been a key exclusive in Xbox’s lineup for two decades. This change is happening thanks to Microsoft’s latest strategy of providing greater access to its games by launching many first party titles on more systems rather than simply the Xbox console and PC. However, withForza Horizon 5now being several years old since its initial release in 2021, some may wonder whether it is worth paying full price to get the same game on PS5.

I put in many hours racing throughForza Horizon 5’s roads and landscapes on PC, but it had been a couple of years since I played the game. Preferring to play games on console, but not owning an Xbox, I have been excited about the release ofForza Horizon 5on PS5.The full PS5 launch will take place on July 27, 2025, but those who purchase the Premium edition of the game have been able to play since April 25.
Despite being a couple of years old,Forza Horizon 5feels and looks great. The PS5 is a wonderful system for the game, particularly thanks to theDualSense controllers' haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Visually, it is just as impressive as any new release could be, and runs smoothly with no drops or other performance issues.

This port to the PS5 is perfect for anyone who has not experienced the game already, or those like myself who have not played it for a couple of years and do not feel like they came anywhere near beating the game. It is a truly beautiful and immersive game with so many areas to explore and races to compete in that I am excited to play more ofForza Horizon 5on PS5.
